The best prizes in the history of amateur golf in the Valencian Community

Study on Golf Tourism in the Valencian Community (Dec. 2019)

Carried out by the Chamber of Commerce in collaboration with the ACGCBCV, as an update to the study conducted in 2016 (the first of its kind in Spain) and extended to cover the whole of the Valencian Community, it once again highlighted the season-normalising nature of golf and its knock-on effect on the tourism industry, generating:

  • 500,000 overnight stays a year in accommodation across the Valencian Community
  • 9.350 jobs in the Valencian Community, representing 0,9% of employment in the province of Alicante and 0,48% of employment across the Valencian Community as a whole.
  • €745 million per year, representing 0.71% of Alicante’s GDP and 0.37% of the entire Valencian Community’s GDP.

 "Costa Blanca Valencia Region Experience Trophy" (jun. 2019)

The ACGCBCV organised this spectacular new event, to which 27 tour operators from 17 European countries were invited to play at El Saler (Valencia), an iconic golf course in the Valencian Community. The event featured a presentation on the destination, a workshop attended by all the tour operators and representatives from our golf courses and hotels, as well as various complementary activities to promote tourism in the region.

‘Best Golf Destination in Europe’ Award (Nov. 2018)

The ACGCBCV received this prestigious award, which was granted by the 680 golf tour operators from 65 countries affiliated to IAGTO following a secret ballot. The award was announced in Cannes (France) during the IGTM trade fair and was collected in London by the president of the ACGCBCV and the president of the Valencian Regional Government during the WTM trade fair.

 

 

"Costa Blanca Valencia Region Ryder Thophy" (jun. 2018)

The ACGCBCV organised this spectacular event, to which 27 tour operators from 15 European countries were invited to play at Le Golf National (Paris) – a course that hosted the Ryder Cup just three months later (September 2018) – and where a presentation on the destination was given.

IAGTO Costa Blanca Golf Trophy - Valencia Region (may. 2017)

The ACGCBCV organised this promotional event for golf tourism, one of the most important in the world , in collaboration with the AVT and IAGTO, showcasing the destination’s tourism offering to 60 golf tour operators from 18 countries, It had a budget of €145,000 and represented a historic opportunity to position the Costa Blanca and the Valencian Community a step above their current status on the international tourism map.
