HISTORY OF THE ACGCBCV

The Costa Blanca and Valencia Region Golf Courses Association (ACGCBCV) is a non-profit business organisation founded in 1992, being the oldest in Spain and a pioneer in the national golf industry.

Initially formed by the first clubs in the province of Alicante, little by little new golf courses, hotels and tourist companies in the area joined, and today it has 25 golf courses, more than 60 collaborating accommodations and tourist companies, sponsors and collaborating companies throughout the whole of Valencia Region.


Manises RCG is the oldest golf club in Valencia. Founded in 1954, it is also one of the pioneers in the whole country and is number sixteen in the Order of Foundation of Golf Courses in Spain. In the province of Alicante, the first course to be federated was Villamartín Golf in 1972, followed by Ifach Golf and Altea Golf. In Castellón, the oldest course is Costa de Azahar, inaugurated in 1960.

 

The ACGCBCV is a reference in the national and European golf scene, and a fundamental vehicle to generate wealth in our territory, promoting the destination in the main international markets of golf tourists.

ACGCBCV is a member of the CEV (Confederación Empresarial de la C. Valenciana), collaborates closely with the FGCV (Federación de Golf de la C. Valenciana), develops an ambitious Annual Promotion Plan in collaboration with Turisme Comunitat Valenciana and the Costa Blanca Tourist Board, is a member of IAGTO (International Association of Golf Tour Operators), an organisation that brings together the most important international tour operators specialising in golf) and is also a member of the Cámara Oficial de Comercio de Alicante, an entity with which it has developed pioneering studies on the economic impact of golf tourism in the C. Valenciana.
